Folie A Deux Just Touched Off at Cartmel

Folie A Deux was narrowly beaten in the 2 mile 6 0-95 selling handicap hurdle at Cartmel yesterday evening. On what was his first run for nearly 3 months having been given a small break since finishing 3rd at Newcastle back in March he ran a gallant race in defeat to finish a closing 2nd beaten only a length and a quarter, another 50 yards and it would have been a different result. We thought the trip of 2 miles 6 furlongs around Cartmel may be a little bit on the sharp side for him which it probably was but he is in great form and he was ultimately beaten by a well handicapped rival carrying a stone less in weight. Hopefully we can Folie in this good form and there should be plenty of races for him to be competitive in through the summer on the quicker ground over hurdles and fences.

All in all it was a pleasing performance and thankfully keeps up the good form of the horses running from the yard, lets hope it continues.
